The Atlantic Beach Police COPS (Community Oriented Policing Strategy) Unit is comprised of two patrol officers. The COPS unit works in partnership with community members, community groups, schools, businesses, governmental departments, and other agencies to help bring all available resources to address issues involving the quality of life in the City of Atlantic Beach.
The Atlantic Beach Police Department’s T.I.D.E.S (Timely Information, Directed Enforcement, & Service) Program is a system that uses timely analysis of crime data to direct law enforcement resources to specific problems. The focus of this program is to be responsive to the needs, issues and concerns of the citizens of Atlantic Beach. T.I.D.E.S provides a system through which the police department and citizens can work together to solve problems regarding crime or quality of life issues.
Through the cooperative efforts of all city services, the T.I.D.E.S. program employs three principles to reduce crime:
1. Accurate and Timely Information sharing,
2. Directed Enforcement using effective tactics,
3. Service through rapid response and relentless
follow through, to improve the quality of life in our community.
