CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH UPDATES
08/23/08 9:45am The beach is now OPEN for surfing and swimming.
08/22/08 1:30pm Thursday and Friday garbage pickups have been moved to Saturday, August
23rd. There will be no yard waste pickup on Saturday. Regular routes will
resume on Monday August 25th.
08/22/08 6:30am Power is out at City Hall. City Offices and Community Centers will be
CLOSED for business on Friday, August 22.
08/21/08 4:30pm City Offices and Community Centers will be OPEN for business on Friday,
August 22.
08/21/08 1:55pm The beach is now CLOSED for swimming and surfing until further notice.

08/20/08 3:00pm All City Offices and Community Centers will be CLOSED on Thursday, August 21.
City Staff will be available from 8:00 to 5:00 to answer calls to the main switchboard
247-5800.
Payment of utility bills - Customers in Cycle One (only) will have their payment
due date extended to Friday, August 22nd at 5:00 pm.
08/20/08 9:00am City Hall is open Wednesday, August 20, for regular business.
There are no mandatory evacuations issued at this time.
Garbage will be picked up as usual on Wednesday, August 20. There will be NO
garbage pickup on Thursday, August 21. Regular Thursday pickup will be moved
to Friday, August 22. Regular Friday pickup will be moved to Saturday, August 23.
Jacksonville has ten shelters open. For information on these shelters or other
information, contact the Jacksonville Emergency Operations Center at 630-2472.
